Cook (Temporary)
About the role
The Office of State Human Resources Division Temporary Solutions is seeking a Cook (S) to provide kitchen support at the NC State Highway Patrol location, 3318 Garner Road, Raleigh, NC. This temporary position offers an opportunity to gain exposure to agency culture, processes, and procedures, enhancing qualifications for future state or private sector employment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook food items as needed.
- Maintain a clean kitchen environment, including dishwashing and putting dishes away.
- Serve the line during meal service.
- Stock and organize kitchen supplies.
- Lift up to 50 pounds as required.
Requirements
- Education and/or experience in food preparation consistent with accepted trade practices.
- Equivalent to one year of experience in a commercial and/or institutional kitchen setting.
- Ability to meet the minimum qualifications as defined by the class specification effective July 1 2025.

Pay
Hourly rate: $15.50, based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application.
