The Memory Care Program provides a holistic approach to care for patients and families coping with Alzheimer’s and dementia-related disorders.

Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor dietary department personnel, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Contribute to performance evaluations of subordinates alongside the Dietary Manager.
- Supervise dietary aide work assignments and assume responsibility for the department in the Dietary Manager’s absence.
- Prepare and serve meals for residents according to their dietary needs and orders.
- Collaborate with the Dietary Manager to ensure resident needs are met and assist with production planning, including forecasting and recipe development.
- Assist with the purchase and storage of food and equipment.
- Ensure the dietary department produces aesthetically pleasing, high-quality meals within budgetary guidelines.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as steamers, blenders, electric slicers, food processors, grills, and ovens, including adaptive equipment for residents with special needs.
- Respond promptly to residents’ requests, often on short notice.
- Assist the Dietary Manager in planning and preparing for facility special events.
Requirements
- Must hold ServSafe Manager certification.
- Ability to unload and stock groceries on shelves of various heights and lift items up to 50 lbs.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding English, performing simple math calculations, measuring, and recording data.
- Strong attention to detail, follow-through skills, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Experience supervising and instructing others.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care facility preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
- Patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude toward residents and their support networks.
- Professional communication skills with residents, staff, and family members.
