Job Tasks

• Follow recipes and prepare foods that correspond to menu cycles prepared by the dietary manager and dietitian, including therapeutic and modified consistency diets.
• Cook or prepare delicious, attractive, nutritionally adequate meals in institutional quantities of supplies & equipment.
• Serve meals to residents in dining rooms or on the tray line.
• Prepare foods for the following day’s menu as needed.
• Maintain sanitation standards as defined by facility policy and procedure while in the prep areas of the kitchen as well as the dish room.
• Communicate with the Dietary Manager throughout the shift as needed to best meet the needs of residents.
• Attend required staff in-services.

Job Requirements

• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in the English language.
• Must be able to follow written and verbal instruction.
• Prior Facility or Commercial cooking experience required.
