Responsibilities

  • Prepares, seasons, and cooks soups, meats, vegetables, and desserts, as well as any other foods as requested.
  • Assists in serving meals to residents in a courteous and respectful manner.
  • Responsible for all aspects of meal preparation, clean-up, and general upkeep of the kitchen and dining room.
  • Follows set guidelines on proper cooking time and temperatures.
  • Documents proper cooking time and temperature.
  • Cleans and sanitizes all food preparation equipment and ensures it is kept in safe and operable condition.
  • Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and provide quality customer service.
  • Adheres to weekly menus.
  • Completes delegated tasks by supervisor.
  • Maintains accurate inventory of all kitchen supplies.
  • Provides three meals per day to tenants.
  • Adheres to all policies and procedures.
  • Reads and comprehends instructions, procedures, and memos.
  • Maintains confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Works as a team member and maintains a positive demeanor.
  • Communicates effectively verbally and in writing.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma.
  • Understanding of the Vulnerable Adults Act.
  • Passing criminal background check.
  • Completion and passing of Serv Safe Certificate within 60 days of hire.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work effectively and efficiently.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing situations.
  • Compassion and ethical awareness.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Recognition and response to kitchen hazards.

Requirements
