Responsibilities
- Prepares, seasons, and cooks soups, meats, vegetables, and desserts, as well as any other foods as requested.
- Assists in serving meals to residents in a courteous and respectful manner.
- Responsible for all aspects of meal preparation, clean-up, and general upkeep of the kitchen and dining room.
- Follows set guidelines on proper cooking time and temperatures.
- Documents proper cooking time and temperature.
- Cleans and sanitizes all food preparation equipment and ensures it is kept in safe and operable condition.
- Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and provide quality customer service.
- Adheres to weekly menus.
- Completes delegated tasks by supervisor.
- Maintains accurate inventory of all kitchen supplies.
- Provides three meals per day to tenants.
- Adheres to all policies and procedures.
- Reads and comprehends instructions, procedures, and memos.
- Maintains confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Works as a team member and maintains a positive demeanor.
- Communicates effectively verbally and in writing.
Qualifications
- High school diploma.
- Understanding of the Vulnerable Adults Act.
- Passing criminal background check.
- Completion and passing of Serv Safe Certificate within 60 days of hire.
- Ability to prioritize and organize work effectively and efficiently.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing situations.
- Compassion and ethical awareness.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Recognition and response to kitchen hazards.
