Cook (Seasonal)

About the role

This is a temporary, seasonal position as a Cook where you can showcase your culinary skills, maintain high standards of quality, and contribute to guest satisfaction through presentation, preparation, and cooking.

Responsibilities

• Know and comply with local health and safety codes and regulations that apply to the hotel
• Ensure the kitchen remains well-stocked at all times
• Receive food and beverage orders as needed
• Follow provided brand and IHM recipes when cooking food to serve guests
• Prepare and plate all food items on the menu
• Use hot food preparation machines such as ovens, stoves, and microwaves to cook or heat food
• Clean and sanitize tables, countertops, and floors after each service

Qualifications

• Ability to follow brand and IHM standard operating procedures to prepare food and beverage items
• Highly motivated team player with strong initiative and desire for achievement
• Effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving issues
• Ability to work well in stressful situations
• Basic knowledge of how to operate all Food and Beverage equipment

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time
• Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

Schedule

The number of hours scheduled per week is variable and depends on guest occupancy, season, staffing, and other factors. Island Hospitality is unable to guarantee a specific number of work hours per week.
