Responsibilities
- Assists cooks in food quality preparation, temperatures, tastes, appearance and garnishing.
- Cleans and sanitizes kitchen, equipment, and storage areas as needed.
- Operates kitchen equipment and handles knives.
- Fills in production reports at the end of meal periods.
- Ensures food items are accurately labelled for food allergens.
- Follows HACCP guidelines and MA codes.
- Ensures sound environmental practices and waste reduction measures are followed.
- Establishes and assigns daily/weekly cleaning schedules for the unit kitchen.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- One year minimum kitchen experience with some experience preparing and cooking.
- Able to work independently, stand for prolonged periods, lift up to 40 lbs, and handle heavy material.
- Enthusiastic, energetic, and possesses strong customer service skills.
- Capable of relating to diverse customers and staff in a professional manner.
- HACCP federal guideline certification desirable.
Pay and Benefits
- Pay: Ranges from $23.00 to $25.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
- Benefits: Eligible for Williams College’s robust benefits package.
Schedule
- Full time: 40 hours per week, 12 months per year.
- Shift: 10:30 am - 7:00 pm Sunday, 12:00- 8:30 pm Monday through Thursday, with Friday and Saturday off.
- Eligible for premium pay, including overtime and applicable shift differentials.
