Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to pre-planned menus, dietary restrictions, and resident preferences.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, safety, and sanitation.
• Assist in menu planning and food inventory management.
• Ensure the kitchen and dining areas are clean and organized.
• Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and regulations.
• Respond to resident feedback and requests promptly and courteously.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Cook or in a similar role within the dietary department in a healthcare or school system setting.
• Knowledge of food preparation, kitchen safety, and sanitation standards.
• Ability to adapt to menu changes and dietary requirements.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
• Serv Safe certification in food handling and safety is required.
• Passion for working with the elderly population is highly desirable.
