About the role
This position involves performing a full range of simple cooking tasks, preparing and cooking items like pancakes, sausage, eggs, hamburgers, and fresh or canned vegetables. Duties include peeling, chopping, grinding, paring, cutting, slicing, dicing, pureeing, dredging, flouring, or breading ingredients. Food preparation involves weighing, measuring, and assembling ingredients for regular and modified menu items.
Responsibilities
- Operates a variety of kitchen equipment using gas, electricity, steam, or microwave heat sources.
- Disassembles, cleans, and assembles component parts of kitchen equipment following safety procedures.
- Cleans, stores, and maintains all equipment and work areas after each use.
- Ensures food is stored at the correct temperatures to prevent bacteria growth.
- Follows established sanitation procedures when handling food.
Requirements
Physical demands include availability to work rotating shifts including nights, holidays, weekdays, and weekends. Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required. Satisfactory completion of an employment verification (E-Verify) check is necessary.
Qualifications
- Work experience in preparing foods and cooking simple foods and short orders in a cafeteria, restaurant, or mess hall.
- Desirable work behaviors include neatness and good grooming, dependability, and ability to work under pressure.
