Cook (Italian Restaurant)

About the Role

Vento is our new Italian restaurant located inside the Heritage Tasting Room. We are seeking a team member who embodies our company standards of exceptional guest service with a positive and outgoing attitude, guided by our values: Welcoming, Engaged, Accountable, Customer Experience, and Team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of eggs, meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items using broilers, sauté pans, ovens, grills, fryers, and other kitchen equipment.
• Assume 100% responsibility for the quality of products served.
• Know and comply consistently with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and approved recipes.
• Follow all kitchen rules, policies, and procedures.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation, adhering to food safety, sanitation, and HACCP guidelines.
• Follow proper plate presentation and garnish setup standards for all dishes.
• Assist in all areas of food preparation and production throughout the casino.
• Support banquets and off-site events as needed.
• Open and close the kitchen properly using established checklists for kitchen stations.
• Work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Exceptional guest service skills.
• Proficiency with classically taught knife skills (julienne, chiffonade, brunoise, batonnet, etc.).
• Butchery skills preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with modern cooking techniques (sous vide, combi oven operation, hydrocolloids, etc.).
• Comfortable with constructive criticism and a willingness to learn and grow.
• Customer service oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a challenging environment, handle sensitive issues, and maintain confidentiality.
• Attention to detail with strong problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
• Ability to maintain professional and courteous working relationships at all levels.

Certificates, Licenses, Regulations

• Must obtain and maintain a Class B gaming license from the Stillaguamish Tribal Gaming Agency and Washington State.
• Must obtain and maintain a Washington State Health Card (Food Worker Card).

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Constantly requires the ability to receive detailed information through oral and written communication.
• Exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
• Ability to stand and/or walk for an entire shift.
• Exposure to tobacco smoke on a regular basis.
• 24/7 work operation environment.

Starting Wage: $19.23/hr.
