About the Role

Waldorf Astoria Chicago is seeking a Cook III to join the team at this prestigious Gold Coast location. Recognized as one of the Best Hotels in the World and in Chicago, the AAA-Five-Diamond, Forbes 4-Star hotel features 215 rooms, over 5,000 square feet of meeting space, and 4 food and beverage outlets, including a restaurant, 2 bars, and in-room dining.

This is a union position with Local 1, requiring complete open availability. Schedule and hours are based on seniority and business needs and may vary weekly. Full-time hours are not guaranteed and may be minimal until seniority is established.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality dishes according to designated recipes and quality standards.
• Deliver a positive dining experience by preparing guest orders efficiently.
• Execute basic food prep and simple cooking tasks (e.g., salads, sides, basic breakfast) to assist higher-ranked cooks.
• Inspect and finalize plates to ensure they meet quality and presentation standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workspace while following proper food handling, storage, and safety protocols.
• Master kitchen equipment and recipes to manage product and operational needs.
• Comply with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness regulations to ensure guest and team member well-being.
