Major Job Duties
- Set up and break down various cooking stations.
- Fulfill supply requisitions for stocking cooking stations.
- Assist other cooks in grilling, cooking in wok, sautéing, stirring soups, monitoring roasts, broiling items, and chopping vegetables.
- Observe and learn all tasks performed by other cooks to eventually perform them independently.
- Gain exposure to various phases of the kitchen operation to understand the entire kitchen process.
- Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment.
- Welcoming and assisting all team members with a good morning or good afternoon greeting.
- Display a professional and courteous demeanor with all team members and staff.
- Provide courteous and friendly service to all staff.
- Perform related work as requested.
Experience
- 1 year experience in Asian, Italian, or casual cooking in a specialty restaurant.
Educational Background
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Some college level courses.
Skills
- Professional, pleasant, and confident presentation.
- Effective communication and relationship-building skills.
- Understanding of recipes and menus.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of company and department rules, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English.
Certification/License
- Clark County Health Card.
