About the Role
A Cook II is responsible for preparing food items in accordance with recipes and established standards. This role embodies our "ONE TEAM. Responsibilities
- Complete all required training and adhere to standard operating procedures and brand standards.
- Provide personalized, friendly service to every guest.
- Apply knowledge of fundamental principles and procedures of food preparation, short orders, and banquet food service.
- Implement and maintain the highest hygiene policies, including daily checks of work areas and equipment cleanliness.
- Follow established recipes to ensure consistent quality of all served items.
- Optimize productivity by executing the daily food prep plan.
- Obtain and act on feedback regarding food and service quality, resolving customer problems and complaints effectively.
- Practice safe and sanitary work habits, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and brand regulations.
- Work in a high-heat environment and handle chemicals safely and responsibly.
- Perform safety and security checks, collaborating with the property engineering team and local vendors to maintain equipment in proper working order.
- Perform additional duties as requested by management to improve hotel operations and guest service.
Requirements
- Maintain confidentiality regarding company business functions, including financial status, guest information, and associate issues.
- Ensure the safety and security of guests, associates, and hotel assets.
- Knowledge of fire alarm systems and evacuation procedures.
- Ability to report to scheduled shifts and work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work well with others, demonstrating organization, honesty, and integrity.
- Adhere to the Golden Rule and maintain a clean, attractive work area, uniform, and personal appearance.
- Work effectively with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.

Skills
- Physical ability to bend, reach, kneel, push, stretch, and lift/carry up to 25 pounds.
- Capable of working for 8 hours in restrictive spaces or environments.
- Eyesight enabling both near and far vision.
- Ability to use/lift arms for up to 8 hours.
- Ability to work in extreme conditions such as heat, cold, and stress.
- Finger dexterity for operating equipment.
- Clear and understandable speech, basic hearing ability, and comprehension of English.
- Basic writing skills.
