Cook I, Restaurant R'evolution
Job Description
The Cook I is responsible for preparing meals for restaurant patrons. Employee must maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and prep areas.
- Follow all restaurant recipes
- Use product according to guidelines
- Properly store and zone all food items
- Aid in preparing for inventory with daily walkthrough and maintaining walk-in & dry storage so that everything is "sheet to shelf"
- Maintain all quality standards at all times per checklist "clipboards"
- Be in proper uniform and properly groomed at all times
- Properly set up prep area according to guidelines
- Complete and properly store all daily prep according to zoning and rotation guidelines
- Maintain all cooking technique standards
- Communicate repair and maintenance needs to management
- Aid in menu development - New menu items will adhere to the procedures outlined in the menu change checklist
- Keep prep station clean, organized and zoned properly according to specifications
- Comprehend and adhere to cleanliness and sanitation guidelines as prescribed by R’evolution standards as well as state and city codes
- Build solid relationship with your Colleagues
- Treat colleagues with respect and dignity
Qualifications And Skills
A candidate for this position must possess the following applicable knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to demonstrate and provide applicable examples to support his/her competency.
- At least two years of previous cook experience preferable in fine dining
- Culinary degree or related hotel experience preferred
- Candidates should be able to perform all basic and intermediate cooking skills
- Track record of delivering exceptional guest or client experience
- Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time for training and safety purposes, and when interacting with guests and associates
- Strong communication skills
- Appropriate professional appearance and demeanor
- Valid ServSafe Food Handler Certificate required
