About the role
The Cook I is responsible for plating and preparing kosher meals for the senior population in Sholom's seven-day week operation.
Responsibilities
- Serve Safe or equivalent food protection certificate preferred; must obtain within 30 days of hire, if not already certified.
- High school graduate or equivalent degree required.
- Previous cooking or plating experience preferred.
Requirements
- Must have a valid Driver’s License.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Qualifications
- Experience in a similar role preferred.
- Knowledge of kosher meal preparation practices.
Skills
- Attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to follow recipes and procedures accurately.

Pay
Compensation is within the posted range and may be determined by various factors including skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. The organization prioritizes pay equity and considers internal team equity when making any offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical. Shift and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
Schedule
Shifts are typically from 10am - 6:30pm, but may vary based on operational needs.
