Cook I

Position Summary

Prepares and presents menu items during service in the cafeteria to meet Quest standards. Follows preparation list for items needed for execution of menus and assists in the day-to-day operations of the kitchen. Duties may include bulk preparation, catering prep, product receiving and cleaning. Assists customers and maintains line in a consistent and professional manner. Cook I will assist in cold prep, salad and grab & go production with recipes. Expected to serve food on the hot line. Follows all HACCP and food safety guidelines. Receives and puts away all kitchen deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and serves menu items in the cafeteria
• Follows preparation list for menu items
• Aids in day-to-day kitchen operations
• Performs bulk preparation, catering prep, and product receiving
• Cleans kitchen areas
• Assists customers and maintains service lines
• Assists with cold prep, salad, and grab & go production
• Serves food on the hot line
• Fulfills HACCP and food safety guidelines
• Receives and stores kitchen deliveries

Requirements

• Ability to follow preparation lists and recipes
• Proficiency in kitchen equipment and procedures
• Good customer service skills
• Physical ability to lift and move food items
• Knowledge of HACCP and food safety guidelines

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment preferred
• Food handling certification preferred

Pay

• Hourly wage range: $1,000.00 to $500.00
