About the Role

We are looking for someone passionate about the culinary arts to join our Culinary team. This individual must be creative, motivated, and eager to grow their talents in the kitchen. Successful candidates will have previous experience working in a professional kitchen environment, with a strong desire to learn, develop skills, and collaborate with the culinary leadership team to create menus that reflect seasonal availability and the restaurant’s concept.

The Cook assists the Chef in production and fabrication of food products for kitchen preparation, cafeteria, banquet cooking, dining room, and fine dining. The Cook will maintain a passive leadership role in ensuring adequate production levels from the kitchen staff.

Responsibilities

• Develop knowledge and skills in various cooking procedures and methods (grill, sauté, and fry)
• Gain experience using knives and various kitchen equipment
• Reach and recreate recipes with consistency in food preparation
• Learn to minimize food waste through cross-utilization
• Work with a world-class culinary team
• Create workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
• Prepare ingredients for cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat)
• Maintain a sanitized and orderly kitchen environment
• Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
• Uphold the quality of ingredients

Requirements

• Active Food Handler’s certification or the ability to obtain it
• Willingness to work a variety of day/night and weekend shifts
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently
• Capability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
• At least 21 years of age
• Desire to exceed expectations
• Energetic personality

Pay

$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
