About the role

The Joseph "Eddie" Ballard Western Kentucky Veterans Center is a 156-bed long term care facility in Hanson, Kentucky dedicated to serving Kentucky's Veterans. They are seeking Cooks to provide compassionate care and assist Veterans with their daily needs.

Responsibilities

• Mixes and cooks specialty dishes and delicate foods
• Maintains records of food used and supply on hand
• Maintains dietary work areas, equipment and utensils in a clean and sanitary condition
• Insures proper storage of food
• Works within a team-centered environment to foster independence, preserve dignity, and provide compassionate care to Veterans

Requirements

• One year of cooking experience in an institutional or large scale commercial setting
• Vocational training in food service can substitute for one year of experience on a year-for-year basis

• Locality Premium - $4.88 per hour
• Shift Premium for Second and Third shifts – 15%
• Weekend Premium – 25%

• Hourly rate: $13.76

• Weekend Premium: 25%
