Job Summary
The Dietary Cook works under the supervision of the Culinary Manager and the Dietary Manager. Key responsibilities include food preparation, production control, inventory control, kitchen safety, sanitation, equipment use and cleaning/sanitizing, food safety, recipe adherence, therapeutic diets, and modified-textured foods and liquids. The cook also assists with ordering and receiving, maintains a clean and safe work area, and assists dietary aides.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a cook in long-term care or other healthcare setting
- Ability to speak, read, and write English to communicate effectively
- Flexible availability including weekends and holidays
- Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Background in safety and sanitation compliance
- Local to Tucson, AZ, and surrounding areas
- Fluency in English
Preferred Qualification
- Current ServSafe® certification or Food Handler certification
