About the role

The Cook is responsible for performing duties as directed by the Deli Manager and/or Head Chef to ensure the successful operation of the Deli Department. You will maintain high standards of customer service, comply with all company policies, and contribute to the overall function of the department.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the fryer with competent knowledge of its essential functions
• Maintain kitchen inventory quality and quantities
• Set up the hot foods case for the day
• Merchandise and maintain prepared foods
• Prepare entrees for hot and cold food displays
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen area
• Cooperate fully with supervisors, department employees, and other personnel
• Perform all duties delegated by the Head Chef
• Maintain established food safety policies
• Be present at your workstation at the start of your shift
• Comply with all safety policies and procedures
• Adhere to the Customer Service Pledge at all times
• Maintain a neat, professional appearance and strictly follow the Dress Code policy
• Ensure regular attendance to support department function
• Comply with all policies in the Employee Handbook
• Perform all designated essential functions of the job

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as pounds and weight increments
• Ability to hear, speak, and understand the spoken word
• Proficiency in reading, writing, analyzing, and interpreting the English language
• Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and taste or smell
• Regularly required to stand, use full hand and digit functions, reach with hands and arms, and manipulate objects
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distant vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus
