Cook - Full-time Days and PM shifts

About the role

We have a new employee orientation class starting soon and are looking for a Dietary Cook / Line Cook to join our team. Our medical facility, Frankfort Terrace, provides care to the non-violent mentally ill population and is located in a quiet neighborhood with beautiful grounds. We offer a sign-on bonus of $500 to be paid with written agreement and after the probationary period has been completed.

Responsibilities

This position is a combination of Cook duties in the kitchen and sometimes helping out as a Dietary Aide out in the dining room. As a Cook, you will prepare tasty, nutritious meals for patients, including special diets tailored with help from our Registered Dietitian. You will keep the kitchen clean and safe, following strict food safety rules to protect everyone, and pitch in wherever needed.

• Work as part of a fast-moving team that wears many hats every day

Requirements

• Food Handler Certificate & Certified Food Protection Manager Certificate (or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment)
• At least 1 year of dietary/cook experience in a healthcare facility or commercial/central kitchen (preferred)
• Basic knowledge of computer-based documentation systems
• Understanding of good food preparation, serving techniques, and food safety and sanitation rules
• High school diploma or GED (preferred)
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Ability to regularly push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds, and pass a pre-employment physical and background check
• Schedule flexibility, including availability to work all shifts (6:00am -2:00pm, 6:30am -2:30pm, and 12:00pm-8:00pm) and every other weekend rotation

Pay

The hourly wage for this position is $15.50.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with fluctuating shifts, including days, evenings, and every other weekend rotation.
