Cook (full-time)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced full-time cook to join the team at Water's Edge Assisted Living in Lake Wales, Florida. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a caring community by preparing nutritious and appealing meals for our residents.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and residents' preferences
• Ensure all food is prepared safely, maintaining proper hygiene and sanitation standards
• Plan menus in collaboration with the dietary team, considering nutritional requirements
• Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen and food preparation areas
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations
• Assist with special event catering and meal service as required

Requirements

• Proven experience as a cook, preferably in a healthcare or assisted living setting
• Knowledge of dietary restrictions and nutritional guidelines
• Ability to follow recipes and food safety standards
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Flexibility to work full-time hours, including weekends and holidays if necessary
• Food handler’s certification or willingness to obtain one
