Cook (FT Days/Evening Shift)

Job Summary

Responsible for preparing food to be served complying with all applicable sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards following established food production programs and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepares and presents breakfast, lunch and dinner daily.
• Creates and posts daily menus.
• Keeps work area neat and clean at all times; clean and maintain equipment used in food preparation, dishwasher, refrigerators, ovens, etc.
• Keeps track of food and supplies inventory.
• Prepares shopping list for purchasing coordinator.
• Supports, cooperates with, and implements specific procedures for quality assurance and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Promotes positive public relations with residents, family members and guests; when applicable.

Education/Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Serve Safe Certificate preferred.
• Minimum of two years experience in food production required.
• Experience in preparing and serving food in an institutional setting preferred.

Qualifications

• TST (Tuberculin Skin Test)
• MRI (Meningococcal Rickettsial Titer)
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
• Satisfactory criminal background records check.

Skills

• Adherence to sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards.
• Knowledge of food production programs and procedures.
• Ability to prepare and serve food in an institutional setting.
