About the role

Under the direction of the Director of Food Service or designee, you are responsible for all aspects of cooking to ensure that all food is prepared to the strict standards of the department. This includes preparing meats and main dishes, as well as general quantity food cooking and the use of all kitchen equipment. You must understand standards of production and prepare high-quality food in specified quantities.

For the Cook assigned to the Bake Shop, responsibilities include making breads, rolls, biscuits, cakes, cookies, pies, and other bakery products. You will also prepare puddings, custards, and gelatin products for patients, special meals, and café customers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meats and main dishes according to department standards.
• Demonstrate knowledge of quantity food cooking principles and kitchen equipment operation.
• Ensure food production meets high-quality standards in specified quantities.
• For Bake Shop assignments:
  • Bake breads, rolls, biscuits, cakes, cookies, pies, and other bakery items.
  • Prepare puddings, custards, and gelatin products for patients, special meals, and café customers.
