Part-time, entry-level position located in Tutwiler, MS.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve three balanced meals per day for residents and staff of the residential facility and other programs as instructed.
- Communicate inventory needs and maintenance problems to the designated staff member in a timely manner.
- Keep food preparation, serving, and storage areas neat and clean according to Public Health Department and Department of Mental Health standards.
- Prepare complete, accurate, and timely reports as required.
- Order food and supplies within the annual budget and as approved by the Supervisor/Manager/Coordinator and Finance and Accounting Office.
- Assist with inventory of all food and food supply items when necessary.
- Provide emergency backup for the weekday cook as needed.
- Treat individuals receiving services, family members, staff, volunteers, visitors, government agencies, and the general public with respect, dignity, and courtesy.
- Conduct yourself in a manner that leaves a favorable impression with the public.
- Cooperate with Supervisor/Manager/Coordinator and other Life Help staff to ensure program efficiency and maximum benefit for all participants.
- Adhere to all Department of Mental Health Standards, Division of Medicaid Standards, and Life Help policies, procedures, and management decisions.
- Respect and uphold confidentiality for individuals receiving services, their family members, colleagues, and sensitive agency situations.
- Refrain from malicious gossip at all times.
- Participate in all required training for your position and the agency.
- Perform other duties as assigned by your Supervisor/Manager/Coordinator.
- May be subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases (including TB, AIDS, Hepatitis), emotionally upset or hostile individuals, and family members.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- One year of related experience.
- Valid Driver’s License.
