COOK-FAIRLAND-PT- Tutwiler

Part-time, entry-level position located in Tutwiler, MS.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve three balanced meals per day for residents and staff of the residential facility and other programs as instructed.
• Communicate inventory needs and maintenance problems to the designated staff member in a timely manner.
• Keep food preparation, serving, and storage areas neat and clean according to Public Health Department and Department of Mental Health standards.
• Prepare complete, accurate, and timely reports as required.
• Order food and supplies within the annual budget and as approved by the Supervisor/Manager/Coordinator and Finance and Accounting Office.
• Assist with inventory of all food and food supply items when necessary.
• Provide emergency backup for the weekday cook as needed.
• Treat individuals receiving services, family members, staff, volunteers, visitors, government agencies, and the general public with respect, dignity, and courtesy.
• Conduct yourself in a manner that leaves a favorable impression with the public.
• Cooperate with Supervisor/Manager/Coordinator and other Life Help staff to ensure program efficiency and maximum benefit for all participants.
• Adhere to all Department of Mental Health Standards, Division of Medicaid Standards, and Life Help policies, procedures, and management decisions.
• Respect and uphold confidentiality for individuals receiving services, their family members, colleagues, and sensitive agency situations.
• Refrain from malicious gossip at all times.
• Participate in all required training for your position and the agency.
• Perform other duties as assigned by your Supervisor/Manager/Coordinator.
• May be subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases (including TB, AIDS, Hepatitis), emotionally upset or hostile individuals, and family members.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• One year of related experience.
• Valid Driver’s License.
