Responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes.
• Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and equipment.
• Measure, weigh, mix, chop, trim, and peel food items to prepare ingredients.
• Safely use utensils, including knives, and operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers.
• Apply cooking methods like baking, roasting, broiling, steaming, and more to meat, vegetables, and other foods.
• Arrange, garnish, and portion food following established guidelines.
• Store food properly by adhering to food safety policies and procedures.
• Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Maintain excellent customer service and a positive demeanor toward guests, customers, clients, and co-workers.
• Follow Aramark safety policies and procedures, including food safety and sanitation.
• Ensure the security of company assets.
• Adapt to changing job duties or new responsibilities as needed to meet commitments.

Requirements

• Experience as a cook or in a related role.
• Validated knowledge of food preparation principles, cooking methods, and food safety regulations (e.g., handling, sanitation, storage).
• Ability to acquire food safety certification.
• Basic math and counting skills.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Physical Demands

• Lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and/or extended walking and standing.
• May require uniforms and/or the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
