About the role

Cook position (30 hours/week with benefits) supporting our childcare program by preparing daily meals and managing kitchen operations. Responsibilities include food preparation, delivery, allergen tracking, cleaning, maintenance, and cross-training for coverage during the supervisor’s absence. You’ll also complete necessary records, mentor high school interns, and cover meal service for childcare programs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily meals for childcare programs.
• Transport meals to other sites.
• Cook additional meals for school-age programs during school breaks.
• Complete ServSafe and CACFP trainings to oversee food allergies and child safety.
• Receive and document food deliveries, ensuring proper handling of products.
• Fill in for Cook/Nutritionist Operations during absences (personal, sick, vacation).
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and perform inventory tasks.
• Support and coach high school interns training as future cooks.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• ServSafe certification (required).
• Allergen Awareness training.
• Basic kitchen experience (3 months to 1 year).
