About the role

Altamaha Health Center, located at 1311 W. Cherry St, Jesup, GA, is seeking a Cook/Dietary Aide to work from 5:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The role involves preparing meals for residents, ensuring dietary compliance, maintaining food safety and sanitation, and supporting a clean, respectful dining environment.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and/or pre‑portioning food for regular and therapeutic diets according to the planned menu.
• Ensuring residents receive their specific meals as prescribed by the physician.
• Following proper food handling and safety techniques per established policies and infection‑control procedures.
• Serving food in an attractive, appetizing manner using proper technique to ensure quality taste and palatability.
• Maintaining proper food temperature during preparation and ensuring food is served at the correct temperature per guidelines.
• Recording food temperatures, as well as refrigerator and freezer temperatures.
• Assisting with tray line setup, assembling trays per menu, tray tickets, portion sizes, resident preferences, diet orders, and within established time schedules.
• Checking trays during service for accuracy.
• Following daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules.
• Cleaning, washing, and sanitizing dishes, flatware, and utensils used to serve patients and others.
• Assisting in maintaining general cleanliness of the dishwashing area.
• Cleaning work area and equipment as assigned.
• Stocking food storage areas and refrigerators as assigned.
• Being pleasant, respectful, and courteous to residents, families, visitors, and fellow employees at all times.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of relevant experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Organized with a high level of attention to detail.
• Desire to work with the elderly.
• Self‑starter attitude.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Schedule

Shift: 5:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
