About the role
The Cook prepares and serves healthy meals and snacks that meet Canada's Food Guide standards, the centre's nutritional policies, and are age-appropriate. The role ensures food handling and preparation comply with Manitoba Public Health requirements while supporting a positive, welcoming mealtime environment for children and staff.
Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare nutritious meals and snacks that accommodate allergies, restrictions, and cultural needs.
- Follow and update posted menus; maintain accurate food records.
- Keep the kitchen clean, safe, and compliant with Public Health standards.
- Monitor inventory.
- Collaborate with staff to coordinate mealtimes and support food-related learning activities.
- Participate in safety drills and maintain up-to-date Food Handler and First Aid certification.
