About the Role
Under the direction of the Sous Chef, this position is responsible for providing superior service to both internal and external customers. The incumbent prepares all foods listed on the respective menus that are to be grilled, fried, broiled, or prepared in the pantry, ensuring high-quality and aesthetically appealing plates.
Responsibilities
- Provides superior customer service, positively interacts with customers and employees, and demonstrates resiliency in dealing with difficult customers and varying business conditions.
- Prepares food items to be grilled, fried, broiled, or made in the pantry, ensuring plates are aesthetically appealing and cooked to customer specifications.
- Recognizes and properly places a variety of sauces on all entrees featured on daily menus.
- Keeps work station neat and clean and assists coworkers to ensure efficient operation of the line.
- Operates in an environment with varying levels of heat and noise, and handles hazards such as wet floors and heavy-duty cutlery.
- Uses equipment associated with the position, including choppers, slicers, mixers, and grinders.
- Reviews and comprehends recipes and other necessary documentation.
- Determines if food items are cooked to proper specifications.
- Efficiently moves around the work area, stocks, and retrieves necessary food items and supplies.
- Lifts, carries, and pushes/pulls up to 50 pounds to move and stock supplies.
- Communicates effectively with customers and all levels of employees.
- Flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Basic food preparation knowledge and line work experience.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain all licenses/certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.
- Minimum of one-year prior experience as a Cook Trainee or coffee shop line cook, and/or completion of a degree in culinary arts or recognized apprenticeship.
- Ability to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, hear, taste, or smell for extended periods.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Requires close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with guests in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Final candidates will be required to obtain gaming licensure by completing a background check, including a criminal background check and drug screen.
