Cook, Baker - On Call

Position Overview The Cook, Pastry Baker is responsible for supporting the Executive Baker in all aspects of food requisitions, managing, and supporting the bakers. Responsible for the production of bread and specialty items for outlets, ensuring food quality according to department standards and ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment in accordance with health department standards. Essential Duties And Responsibilities The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary: Ensure all bread preparation is done in accordance with set procedures and meets quality standardsAssist the Executive Baker with ensuring the bake shop always meets hotel and state health standards for food preparationComplete bread inventory and order products to fulfill and maintain par levelsUpdate the Bake Shop Culinary management team with the information needed to adequately stock the bake shop with all necessary suppliesPrepare special orders for VIP customersTemporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary Qualification Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be at least 18 years of age. 2 years’ experience in a high volume/high quality Breads and Danishes production kitchen, familiar with classic and modern techniques preferred Some knowledge in artistic bread showpieces making, creative and passionate Bread /Pastry training degree is preferred, but not required Requires the ability to work efficiently and within a team environmentKnowledge, understanding, and compliance with policies and procedures, statutory requirements regarding health and safety, sanitation, proper chemical usage, fire procedures, and HACCPAbility to provide leadership and direction contributing to the success of the organization through engaging, developing, and mentoring individuals and teamsMust be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to include nights, holidays, and weekendsWork in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment with high call volume Responsibilities SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
