Pay

The hourly rate for this position is $15.00 to $16.00.

Responsibilities

  • Cook and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • Set up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
  • Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
  • Safely use a variety of utensils, including knives
  • Operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers
  • Bake, roast, broil, steam, and use a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
  • Arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines
  • Properly store food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • Maintain excellent customer service and a positive demeanor toward guests, customers, clients, and co-workers
  • Adhere to Aramark safety policies and procedures, including accurate food safety and sanitation
  • Ensure security of company assets

Job duties may change or new ones may be assigned without formal notice to meet business needs.

Requirements

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role
  • Validated knowledge of basic principles of food preparation, cooking methods, and food safety regulations (e.g., handling, sanitation, storage)
  • Ability to acquire food safety certification
  • Basic math and counting skills
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

Physical Demands

  • Lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and/or extended walking and standing
  • May require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
