Join the kitchen staff of YWCA Cleveland as a full-time Cook at our historical building, Cogswell Hall, located at 7200 Franklin Blvd, Cleveland, OH 44102. You will prepare nutritious and delicious meals for 43 independent residents of Cogswell Hall and assist in meal preparation and delivery for the 250+ guests of the Norma Herr Women's Shelter Monday through Friday.

About the role

As a full-time Cook at the YWCA, you will uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and operational organization set forth by the Cuyahoga County Department of Public Health. Your culinary expertise will shine as you create and serve meals that meet the "My Plate Nutrition" criteria, ensuring all participants receive balanced and wholesome dishes. You will also conduct monthly surveys to assess food service quality, quantity, temperature, and appearance, contributing to an enhanced dining experience for our community members.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and operational organization in compliance with Cuyahoga County Department of Public Health regulations.
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals that meet "My Plate Nutrition" criteria.
• Conduct monthly surveys to evaluate food service quality, quantity, temperature, and appearance.
• Assist in preparing and delivering meals for residents and shelter guests.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of one year of experience in restaurant, senior living, or equivalent cooking settings.
• Valid driver’s license (or obtain within the first 90 days of employment), auto insurance, and reliable vehicle.
• Ability to work in accordance with health and safety regulations.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with residents and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Culinary degree preferred.
• ServSafe Certification preferred.
• Proficiency in quality and quantity food preparation.
• Creativity in meal preparation.
