Yonkers Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a skilled and dependable Cook to join our Dietary Services team. If you're passionate about preparing nutritious, high-quality meals and enjoy making a positive impact on the lives of others, we'd love to have you on our team!
Schedule
- Full-time: 5am–1:30pm
- Full-time: 11pm–7am
- Must be available on weekends and holidays

$26–$28/hour

Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes, production schedules, and therapeutic diet requirements.
- Ensure food is prepared, portioned, and presented in an appealing and timely manner.
- Follow all sanitation, infection control, and food safety standards in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Monitor food temperatures and maintain accurate production records.
- Properly label, store, and rotate food products using FIFO (First In, First Out) guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, workstations, equipment, and storage areas.
- Assist with inventory, receiving deliveries, and stocking food supplies.
- Work closely with the Dietary Manager and Registered Dietitian to ensure resident dietary needs are met.
- Assist Dietary Aides with meal service when needed.
- Report equipment malfunctions and safety concerns promptly.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous cooking experience in a healthcare facility, nursing home, hospital, or large-scale food service operation preferred.
- Knowledge of therapeutic diets and food safety regulations is a plus.
- Long-term healthcare experience preferred.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Dependable, professional, and a strong team player.
