The Cook prepares and cooks foods, providing residents with all meals and snacks in a sanitary, safe manner while focusing on customer service and satisfaction.

Schedule

• Sunday / Monday – 12 pm – 8 pm
• Tuesday / Wednesday – OFF
• Thursday / Friday / Saturday – 11 am – 7 pm

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook foods for residents, adhering to all facility policies and NY State Department of Health codes.
• Provide all meals and snacks in a sanitary and safe manner, meeting dietetic needs.
• Deliver meals using proper dining‑room service for residents and family members.
• Perform proper “in‑kitchen” preparation and cleaning for the assigned station.
• Ensure foods comply with NY State sanitation, storage, and temperature regulations.

Requirements

• Minimum High School Diploma (or equivalent).
• Experience and training in food preparation in a health‑care facility or related food‑service operation.
• Completion of an approved sanitation course or equivalent (preferred).
• At least 1 year of experience as a Cook in a health‑care setting (desired).
• Full knowledge of sanitary codes and menu production methods.
• Excellent communication and organization skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and be flexible.
• Exemplary customer service skills.
• COVID‑19 vaccinations encouraged but not mandated.
