About the Role

Los Lagos Golf Course, located in Edinburg, TX, is seeking a Full-Time Cook to join our team. As part of Troon, a global leader in golf and community management, you will contribute to a fast-paced, hospitality-focused organization. The general purpose of this role is to prepare various food products for restaurant and banquet operations, ensuring guest satisfaction and enjoyment.

Responsibilities

• Prepares sufficient quantities of food products in accordance with production plans or forecast needs.
• Utilizes whole food products to eliminate waste.
• Maintains overall cleanliness and sanitation standards in assigned areas.
• Alerts chef or supervisor of equipment breakdowns, food overages, or shortages in a timely manner.
• Requisitions inventory and receives supplies as necessary for daily production.
• Ensures proper storage of food items, including wrapping, dating, and rotating.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• One to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and speak English may be required for communication with customers, co-workers, and equipment manuals.

Qualifications

• Food Safety and Sanitation Training certification.

Physical Demands

• Frequently stands, uses hands, talks, hears, tastes, and smells.
• Regularly walks and reaches with hands and arms.
• Occasionally sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls.
• Regularly lifts up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 100 pounds.

Work Environment

• Regularly works in extreme heat (non-weather) and near moving mechanical parts.
• Occasionally works in extreme cold (non-weather), wet or humid conditions (non-weather), near toxic or caustic chemicals, and in outdoor weather.
• Noise level is moderate.
