About the role
Prepares and serves food for assigned Centers from prepared menus. Keeps accurate records of daily meal count and inventory. Reports directly to the Center Manager and indirectly to the Nutrition Specialist. Calculates quantities of food needed according to the menu, recipes, food on hand, and number and age of children to be served. Maintains the cleanliness and safety of all kitchen facilities as outlined by the Health and Fire Departments and CACFP regulations. Performs related duties as needed or assigned.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve food from prepared menus
- Maintain accurate records of daily meal counts and inventory
- Calculate food quantities based on menu, recipes, available food, and number/age of children
- Ensure cleanliness and safety of kitchen facilities per Health and Fire Departments and CACFP regulations
- Perform related duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Additional food service training desired
- Proficiency in assigned duties
- Knowledge of menu planning
- Experience in food service in a preschool program preferred
- Experience with prepared menus and record keeping in the USDA Food Service Program highly desirable
- Ability to compute addition and subtraction
- Must be able to lift bulk grocery supplies and pans filled with food or water
- English-Spanish bilingual preferred
- Valid SC Driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Must be able to lift at least 60 lbs., stoop, bend, kneel, and move without limitations
