About the role
The Sisters of Mercy of the Americas are seeking a dependable and experienced Cook to join their campus community in Auburn, California.
Responsibilities
- Prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner according to menus, recipes, and dietary needs.
- Ensure meals are nutritious, appealing, and served safely.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen.
- Assist with inventory, food storage, and kitchen organization.
- Support special events, retreats, and catering as needed.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards.
- Provide friendly, respectful service to Sisters, guests, and coworkers.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of professional cooking experience in a restaurant, healthcare, assisted living, or similar food service setting.
- Valid California Food Handler Card.
- Experience preparing meals from standardized recipes.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, drug screening, physical, and TB test.
Pay
Competitive pay: $18.00-$24.00/hour
