Qualifications
- Experience in cooking for large groups
- Desire to work with older adults
- Able to read, write and speak English
- Must have a friendly and caring disposition
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must have a satisfactory criminal history check
- Must have a physical exam by a licensed physician with a negative drug screen
- Must be able to react in an emergency situation
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist with the cooking and serving of food in accordance with nutritional guidelines, local health department regulations, and resident's individual prescribed diet and food preferences
- Assist with the delivery of quality meals, snacks, special diets as directed by the Food Service Director
- Assist in the presentation of food in an appetizing and attractive manner
- Assist in fostering resident independence with eating by providing adaptive equipment
- Ensure that food is delivered on time and in a pleasant manner
- Prepare food and coordinate food service for special events as requested
- Notify the Food Service Director or Lead Cook of any malfunctioning kitchen equipment or appliances
- Wash dishes following the cleaning schedule
