Newport Meadows & Rehabilitation Center of Christiana, PA is seeking to hire an Assistant Cook to provide nutritious, quality meals to the residents we care for. We are a 139‑bed facility offering long‑term care and short‑term stay. Schedule

Part‑time / full‑time. 1st & 2nd shifts available. Every other weekend required.

Requirements

• Prior line‑cook experience.
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting (preferred; training provided for the right candidates).
• Strong customer‑service skills and willingness to go the extra mile.
• Good time‑management and ability to multi‑task.

Responsibilities

• Review menus prior to preparation of food.
• Prepare meals following planned menus and make only authorized food substitutes.
• Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
• Prepare food for therapeutic diets in accordance with planned menu.
• Serve food in accordance with established portion‑control procedures.
• Inspect special‑diet trays to assure that correct diet is served to residents.
• Assist in establishing service production lines to assure that meals are prepared on time.
• Assume responsibility for tray line and serve on tray line as necessary.
• Interpret department policies and procedures to personnel, residents, visitors, family members, etc., as needed and appropriate.
• Coordinate dietary service with other departments as necessary.
