Responsibilities

Our Cooks ensure that the preparation and presentation of meals and snacks to clients, families, and guests meet Newport Healthcare’s standard of culinary excellence, while providing a friendly dining environment.

• Preparing and serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks daily, as well as for family weekends and other special events
• Providing nutritious, tasty meals while adhering to clients’ dietary restrictions and/or preferences
• Executing menus created by the Chef de Cuisine, and participating in either baking or cooking groups, as directed
• Ensuring the kitchen and all appliances are clean and adhere to state health and hygiene requirements and company standards
• Building rapport with clients and guests to create a positive mealtime environment

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• One (1) year of applicable experience required
• Team player who can collaborate with others to solve problems and create a smooth workflow
• Able to juggle multiple tasks and demands in a fast-paced environment
• Certified in State Food Safety (preferred)
• Inspired to contribute to the well-being of young people by providing them with delicious, healthy food
