McDowell Center for Children, a UHS facility, is a 28-bed residential treatment center in Dyersburg, Tennessee, serving adolescent males with mental health, behavioral, and/or substance abuse challenges. The center provides 24-hour support through licensed therapists, psychiatrists, nurses, and counselors.
About the role
The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals for patients according to the approved menu cycle and production sheets. This part-time position is estimated at 32 hours per week: 8 hours on Thursday for stock management, and 12 hours each on Saturday and Sunday.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve meals for patients following the approved menu cycle and production sheets.
- Adhere to modified diet requirements and food service sanitation standards.
- Operate industrial kitchen equipment and utensils safely and efficiently.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Two years of experience in quantity cooking (preferred).
- Basic knowledge of modified diets.
- Training in food service sanitation and possession of a food handler’s permit as required.
