About the role

Haven Hospice is seeking a Hospice Cook to join our team in Palatka, FL. The role involves preparing and serving meals to patients, including those with special dietary needs, in a clean, safe, and respectful environment. The work brings daily comfort, dignity, and nourishment to those at the end of life.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook patient meals, including special diets, in a sanitary and safe manner
• Cook food in proper quantities based on the daily menu and patient census
• Check and log temperatures for food and refrigerated equipment to ensure safety and compliance
• Serve as first position on the serving line during meal service
• Stock and store food items properly upon delivery
• Follow cleaning schedules to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
• Adhere to all facility and departmental policies and procedures
• Maintain confidentiality of all patient and family information
• Deliver excellent customer service to patients, families, and team members

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED
• An associate degree in Culinary Arts preferred
• 3 years of cooking experience in a healthcare, institutional, or restaurant food service setting
