As a Cook, you'll play a vital role in the preparation and execution of hot and cold meals in our restaurants, room service, and grab & go markets.

About the role

From line cooking and prep cooking to vegetable prep, short order cooking, catering, and mise en place, you'll have the opportunity to showcase your culinary skills and make a positive impact on those we serve every day.

Essential Functions

• Assembles and prepares ingredients for cooking by cleaning and cutting.
• Follows standardized recipes, calculates ingredients based on weight and volume.
• Records temperatures correctly on temperature log sheets.
• Responsible to replace food items that do not fit standards.
• Stores food items as required, labeling and dating items per standards.
• Utilizes leftovers within allotted time.
• Sets up steam tables on patient and cafeteria tray lines.
• Communicates with other staff members to ensure continuity and coordination of services.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Preferred Vocational/Technical training in food service or currently enrolled Culinary Internships student workers meeting Internship requirements
• 1 year of relevant experience in food preparation/serving
• Culinary Internships student workers meeting Internship requirements
• Food Handler Certificate 90 Days And Food Allergy Certificate 90 Days
