Responsibilities

• Prepares various foods based on dietary plans provided by dieticians.
• Operates kitchen equipment such as mixers, slicers, and ovens.
• Cleans work areas after each shift, including sweeping floors and wiping down countertops.
• Creates meals suitable for the elderly in large quantities.
• Ensures food is ready for each meal of the day according to schedule.
• Complies with infection control protocols.
• May assist in filling in for kitchen staff as needed.
• Reports any necessary repairs to maintenance.
• Reads and follows menus and dietary instructions.
• Prepares meals as per the menu and standard recipes.
• Assists in serving meals and managing diet changes.
• Scrapes and washes dishes, ensuring they are stored properly.
• Monitors and records temperatures in refrigerators and freezers.
• Follows proper cleaning procedures for kitchen equipment.
• Communicates with patients, families, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
• Performs other tasks as directed to support the operations of the facility.

Qualifications

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. No supervisory responsibilities are required.

Skills and Abilities

• Effective communication skills, including greeting associates, patients, family members, and visitors warmly.
• Ability to answer questions and provide assistance in a professional manner.
• Basic mathematical skills for adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
• Good reading and writing skills to understand documents and communicate effectively.
• Ability to use computers proficiently, particularly Microsoft Office Suite.
