Responsibilities

• Prepare meals for residents and families, for special events, etc., following federal, state and local regulations.
• Prepare meals according to recipes and safe food handling practices.
• Work well in a team environment.
• Maintain kitchen standards and expectations.
• Demonstrate and maintain a positive, professional manner; manage time efficiently and effectively; show a passion for caring for the elderly.
• Directly supervise dietary aides.

Requirements

• Genuine interest in geriatric work and willingness to work for the best interest of the facility.
• Positive, upbeat personality and ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to work day and evening shifts and be available to work weekends.
• Pass a physical examination, background check, Mantoux (TB) test, and comply with the drug‑free workplace policy.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a dietary setting with food preparation, cleaning, and customer service skills preferred.
• ServeSafe certification preferred but not required; can be obtained after hire.
