Job Summary
This position is responsible for performing a variety of duties resulting in the efficient performance of food preparation and service. The position is expected to prepare food according to written and verbal instruction in accordance with predetermined time schedules. This position will consult with their supervisor about any variances from production items or levels. The position will assist in other areas to complete food preparations for the day. The position will assist other areas of the kitchen to ensure production, customer needs, and the department needs are completed. This position requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Blessing Hospital. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values while supporting the strategic plan, goals and direction of the Performance Improvement Process (PIP) at Blessing Hospital.
Education, Training, and Experience
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Effective and respectful verbal communication
- Ability to work in a diverse work environment
Preferred:
- Training in food service preparation and delivery
- Minimum of one year of experience with cooking from a recipe in a restaurant/professional like setting
Licenses and Certifications
- IDPH Food Service Sanitation Certification preferred
