Job Summary
The Cook 1 is responsible for preparing hot and cold meals for patients and residents on therapeutic diets, cafeteria patrons, and catered events. This position ensures food safety and sanitation standards are upheld and supports the overall efficiency and service quality of the department.
The Cook 2 serves as a leader within the Dietary department, coordinating daily kitchen operations and ensuring high standards of food preparation, sanitation, and staff performance. This role supports department supervisors in implementing and ensuring standards and safety are met.
Minimum Qualifications For The Job
- Cook 1: Education - None Preferred Education - High school diploma or equivalent Experience - One (1) year of experience as a cook, in an institutional setting preferred License(s) - None Certification(s) - Must obtain a State of Alaska Food Workers Card and Serve Safe within 30 days of hire.
- Cook 2: Education - None Preferred Education - High school diploma or equivalent Experience - Three (3) years of experience as a cook Preferred Experience - Previous experience in an institutional setting preferred Substitutions - One (1) year experience as a Cook 1 License(s) - None Certification(s) - Must obtain a State of Alaska Food Workers Card or Serve Safe within 30 days of hire. Must obtain Certified Food Protection Manager within six (6) months of hire.
Pay
Cook 1 starts at $23.52 per hour. Cook 2 starts at $26.28 per hour.
