About the role

Ability to perform assigned functions within the kitchen such as broiler, sauté, pantry, prep, and production as needed. Accept direction to ensure culinary standards, operational guidelines, and food preparation activities are met. Prepare food items based on established recipes and plating procedures, maintaining volume, quality, cleanliness, and attractiveness.

  • Adjust thermostat controls to regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, roasters, and steam kettles.
  • Bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods.
  • Add seasoning during mixing or cooking and test foods by tasting, smelling, or piercing to ensure proper cooking.
  • Carve meats, portion food, add sauces, and garnish plates to fill orders.
  • Wash, peel, cut, and shred vegetables and fruits for preparation.
  • Support safety and accident prevention programs (e.g., nonslip footwear, knife handling, proper lifting).
  • Partner with culinary leadership to ensure coordinated workflow and customer satisfaction.
  • Act as a role model to other employees and maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Take inventories and complete county health department certification.
  • Exhibit knife skills, classic cuts, and sharpening techniques.
  • Provide stellar customer service to internal and external customers and vendors.
  • Assist in the operation of other food and beverage venues as needed.
  • Attend departmental and company training programs or meetings as directed.
  • Compile, complete, and submit reports as needed.
  • Adhere to all company policies, gaming laws, and regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, free of hazards and debris.
  • Meet department uniform, appearance, and grooming requirements.
  • Perform any additional duties to promote productivity and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of food preparation methods and measures for menu planning, soups, sauces, meat, and seafood items.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and good oral/written communication in English.
  • College degree or Culinary Arts degree preferred, or 1-2 years of related experience/training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay

Starting salary: $16.28 per hour. Initial placement within the salary range is based on relevant knowledge, skills, and experience.
