About the role
The Omni Homestead Resort & Spa is a four-season resort located in Virginia, known for its recent $170 million dollar renovation that restored its historic character. It offers a range of activities suitable for families and corporate outings, including superb restaurant dining, championship golf, spa services, and winter sports.
Responsibilities
- Prepare all food items as directed by supervisor and to the company specifications, with limited supervision from management.
- Show good knowledge of culinary fundamentals and techniques.
- Execute menu items within the specified timeline for each meal period.
- Manage prep sheets and station guides to maintain an organized workflow.
- Use culinary equipment properly and safely, and demonstrate proficiency in plate presentations.
- Communicate effectively with other team members and maintain a positive attitude in stressful situations.
- Attend required department meetings and company trainings.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years culinary experience in a hotel or restaurant kitchen.
- Able to work independently without immediate supervision and collaborate well with others.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong organizational abilities.
- Basic mathematical skills and understanding of weights and measures.
- Able to follow recipes and possess the ability to lift, push, pull, and carry moderate weight.
- Capable of walking/standing for extended periods, with frequent bending and twisting.
- Proficient in using culinary tools and able to taste/smell.
Skills
- Knife skills and knowledge of different vegetable cuts.
