Cook 1 - Entry Level - Banquets

About the Role

An entry-level cook position at Hyatt Regency Lake Washington at Seattle’s Southport, a recent AAA Four Diamond and Best of Housekeeping award winner. This role is ideal for individuals with basic culinary skills and a desire to grow in the hospitality industry. The cook will work in the prep kitchen and single stations, requiring significant supervision and training.

Responsibilities

• Perform cooking duties in the prep kitchen and at assigned stations.
• Follow established recipes and procedures to prepare ingredients and meals.
• Work under supervision while learning and developing culinary skills.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications

• Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Fair communication skills.
• No previous experience necessary, though some cooking experience is a plus.
• Professional knowledge or understanding of cooking ingredients and procedures is helpful.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Capable of performing repetitious duties.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Possess a valid food handler’s card.
• A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $23.50 to $30.55 per hour, with a starting rate of $23.50. Individual salaries will be based on experience, qualifications, and education.
